general questions

What does RUNmyERRAND do?

RUNmyERRAND is a web and mobile marketplace that provides people and businesses an easy and trusted way to get everyday tasks done in their own community. We connect "senders" and "runners."

What are credits?

Credits are RUNmyERRAND's currency. A Sender uses them to pay a Runner's "runner fee." Credits expire one year from the purchase date. Don't worry! We will remind you of expiring credits and give you an extension if needed. Purchasing credits now helps you get things done anytime, anywhere. You don't have to worry about providing cash on delivery. How often do you have cash on you, anyway? If you're like us, the answer is never! For Runners, credits transform into dollars when applied to a runner fee. When the Sender marks the errand as complete, the credits for the runner fee are transferred to the Runner's account as dollars.

Who are the Senders?

Our Senders community is open to anyone who has a busy life. We provide services both for busy individuals and to businesses looking to save money.

Who are the Runners?

Our Runners first apply online and, if selected, are added to the community based on location and flexibility of schedule. 100% of our Runner network also goes through a background checking process, powered by Acxiom. Runners range from stay at home mom's (and dads!), young professionals, retiree's, and college students. We are proud to have a wide slice of the community represented as part of our Runner base.

Do the Runners work for RUNmyERRAND?

No. RUNmyERRAND only serves as a platform for "senders" and "runners" to meet. Our role is specified in our Terms of Service.

What if I have a question, dispute, or other problem?

If you have any questions or would like to report a dispute over a specific errand, please feel free to contact us at any time! We are monitoring the site 24/7 and will respond to your question or request promptly. We are happy to hear from you and to help!

What if there is inappropriate content posted?

If you see something posted that you feel is inappropriate, we encourage you to flag it immediately. Errands with a red flag will be promptly reported and removed if necessary. The RUNmyERRAND community is self-policing in this respect, and we appreciate your help. As with any online community that is driven by user content, there are some people out there looking to ruin it for everyone. With your help, we can make this community a useful presence on the web.

If I'm signed up to be a Runner, how do I switch and/or become a Sender?

Your user type can be changed on the "my account" page.

questions about posting errands

What can I post as a Sender?

You can post any errands that you need done! Keep in mind that the RUNmyERRAND community is self-policing. Inappropriate errand posts will be flagged, reported, and subsequently removed. Use common sense when posting new errands. If you need some ideas, see our top 50 here.

How much does it cost?

You can purchase credits, starting at 10 credits for $13.00. And typical errand postings range from 7 to 10 credits (dollars paid to the runner).

Do I need to be home to meet & pay my runner?

No. The easiest way to pay your Runner is through the RunMyErrand online payment system. You can pay the runner fee and also reimburse your Runner for any out-of-pocket expenses they incurred. You can then leave a rating and review for your runner, which is immediately displayed on their profile page.

Not home to meet your Runner? No problem. For example, when you connect with your Runner via RUNmyERRAND, you can work out a way for your Runner to get into your yard through the back gate to drop off a delivery or rake your leaves...or both!

Can I post an errand that isn't paid for yet?

You can post an errand that hasn't been paid for yet. When you are posting a new errand, the form asks if you have already paid for the items at the store. Items such as dry cleaning or a takeout order can easily be prepaid via credit card over the phone. Other errands, such as a grocery run, require the Runner to front the money for your items. You can reimburse your Runner in one of two ways: pay for your items with cash on delivery, or reimburse your Runner from your credits purchased on the site.

The great thing about paying with online credits, is you don't even need to be home, or have cash on hand to pay the runner for your items.

What if I need to edit or cancel an errand?

You can edit or cancel any errand that is still in the "new" state. This means it has not been picked up by a Runner. If a Runner has already picked your errand to do, you cannot edit or cancel it. That wouldn't be fair!

What if the Runner did not complete the errand to my specification?

If the Runner did not complete your errand to the specifications outlined in the errand, you should first contact the Runner and let him or her know something was missed. Many times the Runner will agree to fix something because he or she does not want to receive a negative rating or review from you. If the problem escalates, you are encouraged to report any disputes regarding payment or errand specifics to us.

What if I need to contact my Runner while the errand is in progress?

When a Runner has elected to do your errand, the errand will be updated with the Runner's contact information. Only you, as the owner of this errand, will be able to see the Runner's contact information.

What happens if my errand expires?

When you post a new errand, you select a time that the errand will expire. After this time has passed, the errand will be marked as expired. If the errand expires without a Runner electing to do it, you will be notified via email. You can edit the errand to update the expiration time and repost it as a new errand, or you can just delete the errand.

What happens if I forget to mark my errand as complete?

If an errand that you have posted is marked complete by your Runner, you have 3 days to mark it complete yourself. Your Runner will not be paid until you have marked the errand as complete. As you can imagine the sooner you do this, the happier your Runner will be! If the Runner has finished your errand and you forget to mark it as complete after 3 days, the system will automatically mark it as complete and transfer the runner fee to your Runner's account.

questions for Runners

When/how do I get paid?

Once you have run the errand to the Sender's satisfaction, he or she will mark the errand as complete in the system. Once the errand is marked as complete, credits will automatically be transferred to your Runner account as "earned dollars." After you have earned more than $10, you can cash out your money at any time. We can send you a check in the mail or send the money to your PayPal account. It's your choice!

Can I leave a rating and review for my Sender?

Yes. When the errand you have run is marked as complete, you will get an email notification. In this email, there is a link so that you can rate and review the Sender. If the Sender was easy to work with and paid promptly, you can give the Sender an excellent rating and review!

What is the ratio of credits to dollars?

For Runners, 1 credit = $1.00 USD

What if I need to ask the Sender a question after I have signed up to run the errand?

After you have decided to "run the errand," the errand will be updated with the Sender's contact information (if he or she has provided it). Only you, as the Runner, will be able to see this information.

What happens if I have completed an errand, but the sender does not mark it complete?

Once you have finished an errand, you are encouraged to mark it as complete. When you do this as a Runner, a notification will be sent that lets the Sender (owner) know that you have completed the task. This also starts the clock on how much time the Sender has to mark the errand complete. Once the Sender marks the errand as complete, the runner fee (and any reimbursement costs, if applicable) will be transferred to your account. If the Sender does not mark the errand complete 3 days after you have marked the errand complete, the system will automatically mark the errand as complete and transfer applicable fees to your Runner account.
